PCR & Nucleic Acid Testing
for Travel

Note: If there is no appointment available on a specific date for the test, please call us and we will try our best to accommodate your request for the test as required.
For Nucleic acid (NAAT) test, the hardcopy/printed result will be provided to you while at the pharmacy. Usually, it takes approximately 30 minutes to complete the test and provide the test result. You may scan/upload it as required.
Note: Nucleic Acid test is not a rapid antigen test. It is a very accurate & sensitive molecular test.
We offer Nucleic acid (NAAT) & RT-PCR (Real time PCR) tests. This is NOT FUNDED by ministry, but it is approved for international travel and other purpose where Nucleic acid and/or PCR test is required. The cost for the test is $150+HST.
Although these tests are widely accepted around the world for travel, we recommend that you do the research and find out your Covid-19 testing requirements. Due to the constantly evolving global pandemic situations, we cannot guide you about what could be the requirements for your destination of travel.
Please bring your passport and OHIP card (if you have it) at the appointment.
For RT-PCR test, the test report will be provided online though the website. We will provide more details about how to get the report at the time of your test appointment. Usually, it takes approximately 48-72 hours to provide the report.
Asymptomatic Covid Test
At Med+ Pharmacy, we also offer Covid-19 testing for asymptomatic patients as approved and funded by the Ministry of Health in Ontario.
This service is only available to asymptomatic patients. If you have any Covid-19 symptoms, only an assessment centre can test you. Contact your local public health unit if you do not have assessment center near by. Please do not come to the pharmacy in such cases.

We DO NOT perform testing for persons with Covid-19 related symptoms or their close contacts.
